What we worked on

Greenray operate a number of integrated maintenance contracts covering scheduled and unscheduled services for several platforms operating in the North Sea. In particular, Greenray have a long standing relationship with a client for which we provide integrated maintenance services over multiple platforms, encompassing Avon and RB211 Generator Sets.

The scope of service and maintenance

Fundamental to our customers is the access to rapid technical support, and provision of OEM spare parts. Our contracts typically cover the servicing of the following equipment:

  • Gas generators and power turbines
  • Reduction gearboxes and drive train components
  • Exhaust Volutes
  • Gas turbine filtration and acoustic equipment
  • Control systems
  • Lubricating oil/servo systems
  • Driven units (i.e. alternators)
  • Switch gear

A field engineer was required at a power station in Northern Ireland at very short notice to inspect a power turbine (PT) following an Avon failure. The PT was found to be heavily damaged requiring a strip down of the gas path to ascertain the full extent.
